About Spokane Festival of Speed

The Spokane Festival of Speed Historic races are sanctioned by SOVREN, the Society of Vintage Racing Enthusiasts, a non-profit organization of over 400 members dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and competition of historic racing cars in the Pacific Northwest. SOVREN was founded in 1986 with only 15 original members holding events at Pacific Raceways at Kent, Washington. Over the years, SOVREN has grown to include six road race events at race courses in Seattle, Spokane, Portland and Bremerton. SOVREN events have raised over $8,000,000.00 for Seattle’s Children’s Hospital. SOVREN members range from race car drivers who enjoy the spirit and camaraderie of vintage racing through wheel to wheel competition, to crew members involved in the restoration of these historic racing cars, to those who enjoy the thrill of watching these old racing cars compete as turnworkers, race officials, and spectators.
