So that's it?? No more WGI thread?

So that's it? no more talk about WGI race? It all goes under the carpet so no one has to explain what happened?....I mean there are threads about guys who did well from the back of the field moving up.........there are threads about the start looking good in pictures.....there are columns about some dude who lived in his car.......Tim won again........Views from the podium.......All fun stuff......Very cool........I get it....

But I'm gonna tell you.....as a racer about to sign up to compete again in this series, I have a strong concern for what went on this past weekend at WGI.

I saw a car go straight into turn 11 wall and pretty much destroy the car. It lifted off of the ground and I actually saw the head of the driver come out of the cockpit. Nice big hit......parts and wheels and wings everywhere.

But no one to be found.....I ran down to the inside of the track area to try to get the drivers attention to see if he was alright. I know this driver so I wanted to check for myself if he was ok so I can run back down pit lane and tell his dad.

What I witnessed next was the biggest bunch of sh#t that I have ever seen at a live event. I mean, I heard stories about Atlanta major this year and thought.....Damn, that is ridiculous...but I got to watch it unfold right in front of me.

After the major incident, the race was allowed to be finished....a couple more laps...including the cool down before anyone even tried to get to the cars. No one went to the outer wall to see if they were ok. Cars just came racing by more than 5 minutes.

So the workers in red come up to a locked gate on the inside of the track and gingerly open it like they have the rest of the day then they just stand there and look at the wreck. While I am yelling at the fat ass in the red coat to move it he tells me that no one for the series has told them to go out on track.

So that is when the "blame everyone else" and shoulder shrugging "I don't know" answers came out. From everyone I went to. Here I am running around like an idiot to get someone to go out on track and everyone just stared and talked into their radio.......Telling me someone somewhere hasn't done something yet..

Complete incompetence. From all involved.

Maybe no one really cares. But I did hear a ton of people saying how ridiculous it was. I guess we go on and no one has to have an explanation.

I mean we are overloaded with people balking about "safety"...Safety safety safety...

and yes that's "balking". It's all a bunch of sh#t. Kind of like the mother who preaches safety but runs a red light while on her phone with a car full of kids. The communication level at these events better pick up a ton. No one knew a thing. No one had an answer. Not during nor after the incident.

This is not the first time this has happened with this group at this track either. On Sunday there was a car being push started in the pits to get out on track to join the warm up lap for the second race. Two workers almost jumped on front of the car to stop it. Communication better pick up at these events a ton (get the recurring theme)

BUT DONT WORRY! THE BLACK FLAGS EVERY MINUTE DURING PRACTICE WERE PERFECT FOR SAFETY!!!!!

I have never said anything wrong on this forum and I don't think I am wrong now. If you don't like it....too bad. And since no one has come forth with any explanation....I am going off what I personally experienced.
