Assuming you have the engineering expertise and a shop with all the equipment necessary to design and build a race car, how do you get it homologated to go racing?
From what I can gather all you really need to do is make sure it meets all the requirements listed in the SCCA GCR and then send in the homologation form on the website with your pictures and a nice crisp Benjamin for whatever classes you want to race it in. Also, if I'm interpreting the rules correctly any SCCA-legal FF or FC car can also race in the FRP pro series with no additional homologation process, just some small extra things to fit their particular ruleset. Is this accurate? If so it is a surprisingly simple process. CIK-FIA homologation is a huge pain in the butt in comparison.
