Change in SFI label?

Looking at a new set of belts, I noticed that the SFI label had changed. The old label (left) just says "Date of Manufacture" while the new one (right) says "Valid Two Years From Punched Date - Date of Manufacture." This seems to contradict both the old and the new SCCA rule on SFI belts. I talked to someone at SFI who told me that SCCA Tech Inspectors know their own rules which would supersede anything on the SFI label (except the punched date, of course). This wasn't very comforting to me.

Has anyone run into a problem with this, or gotten a definitive ruling that this isn't a problem? Any Tech Inspectors out there?
