NARRA Prepares for the US Prototype Championship Series
Early in 2014, NARRA conceived the idea to host a club race series for all makes of prototypes. In November of 2014 we held a successful exhibition race at Sebring International Raceway. Cars from Radical, Praga, Wolf, Saker, and Elan, competed against one another. We were very happy to see a few familiar faces from the 2013 and 2014 Radical Cup at that event.
The North American Road Racing Association (NARRA) would like to invite owners of all makes of prototypes to participate in the 2015 US Prototype Championship (USPC). We hope to see cars from West, Stohr, Norma, Ligier, Juno, and other manufacturers join us. The class structure provides a place for everyone. The schedule is currently set for rounds at Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, and Virginia International Raceway.
Motorsports Southwest / Wolf have graciously agreed to provide prize money for the opening rounds at Road Atlanta.
The Wolf GB08 and the Praga are available for rent. Contact dean@motorsports-sw.com 512.261.1462 or info@LMPRacingUSA.com
The rules and class structures have recently been posted to NARRAonline.com. As with any new series, changes will certainly be necessary as things develop. All classes of the USPC will share the track, but no GT or open wheel cars will be on track at the same time. A typical event will include Friday practice sessions, followed by qualifying and sprint races on Saturday and Sunday. The NARRA General Competition Handbook will apply to the conduct and session formats for the USPC.
We race for the comradery and enjoyment of the sport. For NARRA sprcific questions contact Aaron at ahmel@narraonline.com if you are interested in participating in the series, or if you have any questions regarding your cars eligibility.
