Partner Endurance Race @ Irwindale

Irwindale Speedway holds an event a few times a year called the "Night of Destruction". It features skid-plate racing, demo derby and all kinds of other fun stuff but my personal favorite is the compact car endurance race.



Essentially the race uses skid plate cars with all four tires. This race was done in two parts split up by a driver change.

The track was a little too tight and the cars really got beat up. My car has a totally stock suspension and the body roll was pretty insane. Tons of understeer through the tight course.



That said, things went pretty well but a front left tire blow out eventually forced us to retire.





The 2nd part of the race was red flagged due to a scary moment with a car flipping:

The driver was fortunately fine and went on to finish the race once the car got flipped back around.



A really fun event though I do wish the car did not get beaten up so badly.
