Welding Repair of Swift DB1 Upright

My spare front factory DB1 upright has a hairline crack half way around one of the upper caliper mounts. The welder has asked me to confirm it is made of aluminum (and not magnesium!), and asked me to inquire as to the recommended filler material.



Any tips/suggestions from the welding gurus would be appreciated.
