Some years ago I had the great pleasure of having lunch with Mr Donlavey and it was very sad to read of his passing.
Did he talk about 40 + years of stock cars - no, once he found out I was a road racer all he talked about was Le Mans when he ran a stock car there, 75 0r 76 I think. Must have been a hell of a culture shock, probably more for the french I would think. One of the racing worlds true characters that will be missed.
