Heading over to the Speedway in a couple hours for the Rolling Stones concert. Saw them 40+ years ago in a small club outside of Boston when they were warming up for one of their tours, so this time being in the cheap seats (standing, actually. Oh, are the legs and feet gonna be sore tomorrow!) a hundred yards or so away from the stage won't be quite as much fun, but what will be interesting will be to see how well the track performs as a stadium-rock venue.
Apparently, this is the first of the big shows they are planning/hoping to book - they can easily hold a half million in there if they really wanted to set the stage on the inside of Turn 3 (would probably ruin the golf course, though) - so this is kind of a rehersal for the track in holding this type of event.
Thank heavens the weather is going to be decent!
