SF2000, Pro Mazda Regulation Changes for 2016 To enable teams and drivers owning non-compliant F2000 and older Star Mazda-type race cars to participate in some exciting venues on the 2016 calendar, Andersen Promotions will expand and re-emphasize the "Expert" classes - opening up the regulations in the Pro Mazda Expert class and introducing an Expert class for USF2000.

Drivers 30 and older will be eligible to compete in these classes with a separate point system for season-long honors. In USF2000, acceptable cars will be Van Diemen chassis 1998 and newer and alternative aero, damper, wheel and engine packages will be permitted. Competitors will be required to use Cooper tires and VP fuel, and other safety requirements including Staubli devices, the ICARS yellow light system, helmets that meet or exceed the FIA 8860-2010 specification and proper head surrounds will remain mandatory. Entry fees for the Expert class will be at a reduced cost.

For the Pro Mazda Expert class, use of older Star Mazda aero packages will be permitted with a weight penalty, and use of non-RESET engines will also be allowed. Entry fees will be reduced in the Pro Mazda Expert class.
