Hewland MK8 - Fork Screw Size

For reasons I wont elaborate, I have deformed the thread of the screw that holds the Reverse Fork on the selector shaft. I thought it was 5/16" 24 TPI, but a new one of this size does not seem to go into the fork.



Any ideas on the size?
