'98 Van Diemen

Guys,

I was planning on racing both Florida Majors, and eventually ending up doing the runoffs in Daytona. Kind of a bucket list thing.

But now my financial situation is like a pimple getting ready to pop. My employer went out and bought 3 Boeing 747-400's. Actually 4, but I am not sure where they came up with the money for that one. We have all been flying these airplanes for the last three months while they have been late on payroll for two weeks each pay period. Overtime and per diem has not been paid since October.

This is where I am offering up my '98 Van Diemen FB for rent for these two weekends. If I don't get paid by Monday. The car has a zero time George Dean Suzuki. It is probably one of the newest engine around. It also has a brand new radiator and oil cooler, and is race ready with my trackside support. Car will be ready "arrive and drive" as I have everything ready to go. This is a very fast and reliable car that is capable of winning both of these events in the hands of the right driver.

I am posting this now because registration for both of these events are closing soon.

Unfortunately for me, if they don't come up with all our money by mid January we are parking all their airplanes. My car will then be for sale, and so will be my house and everything else my ex wife doesn't own. I will post pictures on request, and the price will be $35,000 for now to comply with Apex rules.

Thanks in advance... and happy new year.

2015 GCR

While reading the new 2015 GCR for the F500 class “spec line items” I can’t find Note #5. Does anyone know where I might find it?

2. Fasteners, cooling system and oiling systems are free.

3. Clutches are free as long as no mods are made to the engine to accommodate the replacement clutch.

4. Competitors must be able to supply a printed factory service manual for the year of engine being used to tech upon request

Body replacements

As Im shopping for which FV I pull the trigger on next month, obviously price, location, condition, and extras all are things that I'm evaluating. The other consideration that come to mind as I see different manufactures and age of cars is body part replacements. As a new and humble racer, I have to assume that my nievete may result in having to buy or have a nose or panel replaced. With this subject in mind, should I steer towards a small list of car mfg to choose from when looking at used cars who may support my efforts later as things come up?

I found a veeracing website that looked like it had links to many vee mfg, but most of the links I tried came up non-working.

Happy new year.

WTT - Koni 8211 14-1/4" for shorter?

Not sure if trades are allowed on the forum, let me know if I broke any rules..

I have a set of steel bodied Koni 8211 B1 valving that are too long (14-1/4") for my application.

Does anyone have a set of the same that are shorter? I could use a pair closer to 12-1/2" (for my fronts) or 13-1/2" (for my rear).

I suppose if nobody has what I need, I may put them up for sale. I would rather trade if some are available.

Thanks

-John
