My wife and I went to the IRL race here at PIR tonight and had a really great time. I thought the race was awesome, and the venue very nicely laid out. No spoilers, but the winner really hit his marks for the whole race.
It's been NASCAR only on that track since they ended the road course in favor of RV parking a few years back.
I'll never forget my first time driving PIR in road course configuration. I had just purchased my 1984 Reynard FC. Maiden voyage, I thought I had gone through the car fairly well. Guess not....spun the flywheel bolts and by the time the rpms were 10500, the engine gave up quicker than France in a world war.

I know this is blasphemy, but....
