Busy putting a new head together.
It has old but good valve guides, old valves which have been freshly machine cut and the cylinder head valve seats have been machine cut.
Initial assembly and installation resulted in cold leakdowns in the order of 28% at 100 PSI.
Several hours of hand lapping later resulted in little change.
The valves and seats show a grey line of about .08 inch wide.
Leakage is from the intake valves, the exhaust valves seem to be OK.
Is there a fundamental problem here or do I just need to keep grinding away?
