Description
1988 Swift DB-4 Formula Atlantic. Current owner since 1995. Significant history, exceptional performance over 27 years. Jocko Cunningham Pro Atlantic series 1988 – 1991, Championship runner up 1988, series Champion in ‘89. Bob Tankersly 1992 - ’94. David Wilcox 2000 to 2011: many wins, multiple lap records and Division Championships, zero mechanical DNFs. SCCA National Championship Runoffs: top-4 finishes in the last seven Runoffs in this car ending in 2011, three podiums: 3rd Mid Ohio 2005 (won by Graham Rahal), 3rd Topeka Heartland Park 2008, 3rd Road America 2011. One exception, out in first lap incident. Car not entered in 2009, 2010.
Car is complete with a strong Don Preston Racing Toyota 4AGE long-rod motor, 50mm Webers, light weight rotating assembly, JE pistons, Carrillo rods, Tilton 5.5” carbon clutch and slave cylinder, high volume oil pump, highly modified Williams Racing Development salsbury style diff and gearbox, ring and pinion cryo and rem’d, 37 gear sets, Fast Forward half shafts, lightened cv joints, Penske 8760 three-way shocks, chassis stiffeners. Two complete nose/wing assemblies, 12 wheels, slicks and rains. Onboard camera, wired for radios (available). Numerous aero mods in compliance w/ GCR – simple conversion back to original configuration. SCCA 1200 lb. min race weight w/driver.
