SCCA to Combine FC, FM & FB, FE

Friend and I have been talking about consolidating classes to ultimately increase field size.

I'm sure this has to have been talked about before, but why hasnt it happened??? Its clear racing is still alive but doesn't anyone else think that the Field has been spread too thin?

I'm sure this is treason and possibly a sin in racing but it just makes sense to me!

Lap records to justify this wild idea are close enough to where adjustments to the class can be made!

This way you have FV,FF, FW (Formula Winged haha), FA

and you're DONE... 4 classes, pick what you want, and within FW you can pick from there...

I'm sure this is beating a dead horse, but is it really that bad of an idea? I did a search before to see if there was ever any serious effort, but at what point did SCCA make a decision to combine different production cars to one single class. Seems possible?

Just wanted to have a discussion about this and see what people think, and beat a horse....
