Tilton Annular Clutch Seals Needed

After 26 years of service the seals in my Tilton annular slave cylinder have failed.

Tilton tells me that they quit supplying seals for this style cylinder 15 years ago, that they no longer have the specifications for these seals, and politely suggested that I buy a brand new cylinder. How nice.

The orings measure 1.725 X .210 and 2.10 X .210.

I have found extreme chemical orings on McMaster Carr that match these sizes, part numbers 9319K67 and 0319K71.

These part numbers are for the Aflas rings.

From the McMaster catalog.

Choose one of these O-rings for applications involving chemicals. Inch O-rings are sized to the SAE standard AS568.

Aflas—Recommended for use with oils and lubricants, Aflas O-rings also resist steam, heat, and chemicals such as boric and phosphoric acids. Temperature range is 25° to 450° F. O-rings meet ASTM D2000. Durometer is A80 (hard). Color is black.

FEP with Silicone Core—The FEP shell is chemically resistant like PTFE, but the silicone core makes these O-rings more compressible. Both the FEP and the silicone are made from FDA-listed materials, so if the shell wears away, your food and beverage process is still protected. These O-rings resist ammonia, animal and vegetable oils, and ethanol. Temperature range is -75° to 400° F. O-rings meet ASTM D2000/SAE J200. The FEP has a durometer of D55 (hard) and is clear; the silicone has a durometer of A70 (medium) and is red-orange.

FEP with Viton® Fluoroelastomer Core—These O-rings also have a chemical-resistant FEP shell with a compressible core; but if the shell wears away, the core will continue to resist chemicals, such as boric acid, citric acid, isopropyl alcohol, and transmission fluids. Temp. range is -15° to 400° F. O-rings meet ASTM D2000/SAE J200. The FEP is made from FDA-listed materials for use with food and beverage; it meets ASTM D2116, has a durometer of D55 (hard), and is clear. The Viton® fluoroelastomer core has a durometer of A75 (medium) and is black.

I am open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks

Dave
