Stuart/Alan Jackson
I sold them my RF92. The car was the product of a 16K frame up restoration, in addition to the car that it started out as. I don't know how long or under what conditions the car returned to Carolina from Phoenix. What I do know, is that the car was loaded up "As raced" except for the fact that they brought an enclosed UHaul trailer here so small, that we had to take off both corners of one side to wedge it in. This is when my doubts about their knowledge began. While they were here, and prior to them taking it, I offered to run the engine, to ensure that they were comfortable with that aspect, they declined. This engine/carb setup had been run for 4 weekends prior, completing each, without a DNF and finishing/qualifying no further back than 4th in 15-25 car FF fields. Everything was as represented.
Over a month later , I get an email from Stuart asking me to pay an engine builder for a carb rebuild. I called the builder, who asked me what kind of fuel had been running, and I told him that I had been running Sunoco 110 leaded. He said that there was an "Ethanol residue in the carb" that was causing a "Flat spot" in the running of the engine. Under the threats of Stuart talking bad about me, I paid 150.00 for half of the carb rebuild to keep my reputation positive in the racing community.
Stuart's emails, told me to pay the money for the carb rebuild "Before things get nasty." I didn't take these threats as physical, as Stuart is a tiny little sample of a man, but paid in defense of my of my reputation.
I see, the these two are looking for spare wheels for the car now. Caveat Emptor......
