Has anyone tried these molded steering wheel grips? If so, what's your opinion of the benefits?

It's damned expensive. The owner has convinced me that the "ProPak" is the best choice, even for an amateur racer. At $1200, that's a tough one to swallow without independent confirmation that it's worth it.
I think that the benefit would be proportional to the steering effort. I drive an SRF (Yes, I don't belong here!) and I don't know how the steering effort compares to formula cars. I run 4.5 deg of castor and, with a 280 mm steering wheel, the effort is significant. (I used to have a 270 mm wheel and that was quite a workout.)
One possible benefit for me is avoiding carpal tunnel surgery. I had CT surgery on my left wrist a couple years ago, which has worked-out very well, but now my right wrist and arm are starting to show symptoms when I race. If these grips actually let me reduce grip pressure, then maybe they'll slow that degeneration. (I can't upsize the wheel any more.)
I can just imagine many of your reactions: $1200 for some molded plastic! Crap, I could buy _________ with that!
TIA,
Ed
