Anyone know what starter motor amps are needed for starting, say, a Ford 1600 or 2000? I'm actually interested in the BDG (2L bore of 1600 block) with Nippon Denso starter motor - but any measurements anyone has of similar engines would be appreciated. Got to start somewhere!
Same topic - any recommendations on a low cost clamp-on-ammeter that measures DC amps? Most cheaper ones only seem to measure AC amps. Will only use it a few times so the cheaper the better! Range? - oh - enough to measure starter motor current - whatever that may be!
