RT5 drive shaft removal

Newby (and most likely a dumb) question, but how do I get the drive shaft / CV joint apart from the upright / hub end?



I have removed all nuts from the inboard side of the CV joint bolts expecting to slide the joint and shaft out from the upright but can not pull the joint out. Am I just not trying hard enough, or is there a trick to it?



Having the tub and sponsons all back together now, I am rather keen to get the drive train restored and back into the car.
