I'm doing some research into communication tech used in racing.
I'm wondering why crew/driver communication hasn't evolved beyond the old school 2-way radio systems.
Bear with me on this...
Why isn't cell/data being used as a way to communicate...at any level.
It seems that coverage is generally pretty good at most tracks. Why aren't teams using cell phones as a way to communicate? The technology is cheap, dependable and very well developed.
Insights into emerging systems or companies would be appreciated if people are using something other than 2 way radio.
Thanks
