Free webinar: racing on other people's money

A bit of a gimmicky title, but let me explain. :)

I've had the good fortune to attend a couple of Mazdaspeed seminars at PRI and CME the last few years with Jim Jordan, Jim Bowie, Dean Case and others. They outlined how we mere mortal racers could provide value to sponsors at any level and build partnerships that would support (or at least subsidize...) our racing.

The team at Mazdaspeed knows as much about racing and and sponsorship, particularly at the grassroots level, as anyone in the industry. It's a travesty that only the 50 people in the room were hearing their tips so I connected with Dean Case and we are hosting a free online seminar on July 30th:

Free online seminar with Dean Case from Mazdaspeed: "Winning Off the Track: Using the media to provide value to your partners & advance your racing"

He's going to cover:

  • The role of the media (it is not their job to make you famous)

  • The difference between a press release and a sponsor update

  • How to develop a plan to become the local hero

  • The need for follow-up and why it matters

  • The value of Social Media

  • Details that make the difference

As Dean described it: "Even if you are not on the podium, you can still be on the front page of the local paper, score that radio interview, or drive traffic to your partner's business."

There are two times, 9a Pacific/12p Eastern and 1:30p Pacific/4:30p Eastern on Wednesday, July 30th. You can RSVP for free here:

Space is limited - the Paul Haney/Tire webinar we did a month ago filled all the available slots and this one will too so if you're interested, get signed up.

P.S. - I know some folks are wondering what a "webinar" is - it's a seminar you watch via your computer and type to ask questions. It's fun, easy, and you don't have to leave the house.

P.P.S. - No Mazda required to attend. :)
