I've been looking at getting into racing in one way or another for a while. Looked into karts, spectated some SCCA events at Thunderhill a while back, sat in an FV, and so on.
I'm looking for low-budget fun, not trying to be a front-runner or anything.
I love open-wheel, but from what I've seen (admittedly limited experience) from this area open-wheel is just not that popular. What classes are seeing decent field numbers at tracks like Thill, Laguna Seca, Sonoma? I do like the looks of FV and the car fit me well but when I was there the numbers were less than 10 and I heard its only gotten lower since.
