Adapter ring studs

I am installing a new adapter ring and received the studs from pegasus, although it seems like the unthreaded portion of the studs are too small for the 2.14 adapter ring for both the long and short studs.

I think the short stud has about 1" of unthreaded to support the adapter weight. Is it enough or too little to support the weight and protect the threaded portion?

Which studs are you using, and where did you get them?
