I was just reading Road and Track on-line. They highlighted an insurance company that provides on-track coverage for HPDE events. While it looks like a fancy advertisement it may be of interest to someone.
'Cover Your Track'
... It doesn't matter if you loop your 911 and back it into a tire wall or if someone drops a helmet through your Corvette's back glass. If it happens "inside a facility designed for racing," chances are, you're paying for the damage out of pocket unless you purchase additional coverage. Most consumer insurance companies and their underwriters don't offer riders or endorsements for street cars that see occasional track time, competitive or not.

Lockton is one insurer that's risen to fill that void. The company approves about 1200 track days a year, issuing agreed-value policies that begin and end with each event. Go to the company's website (locktonmotorsports.com), answer a few questions about yourself and your car, submit a payment, and you'll get a policy in your in-box within a few minutes.
