Gasoline/water separator recomendation

Had a small disaster at work the other day when we discovered the race-fuel tank on the back of our truck had gotten water in with the gas. We had multiple cars running very badly before we figured the common denominator was the gas.

My diesels have fuel-water separators on them and an indicator light for when they detect water.

1) Do diesel-water separators work with gasoline too?
2) Anyone have a recommendation for one with an indicator light on it?

My guess would be the boaters need this so it should be available. Pilots are supposed to check fuel by draining a bit so maybe they don't need it.
