Happy New Year, Everyone!

A 15th year of this site is now a page turned, and frankly, we can't believe we have come this far. From a couple of brothers looking for more information on a rather blindly purchased Reynard Formula Continental, to a family-owned and run business a decade and a half later, we all are thankful for the wonderful people that make up this community.

We have some big plans on the horizon for the forums in 2016, including a new look and a long-overdue whole new software package for the forum, stay tuned for the biggest year for ApexSpeed!

Looking to buy a factory fiberglass bucket for a mid 1970s Lola Formula car. It is my understanding that they used the same seat in all their Formula cars in that era; Formula Ford right up through Formula 5000. See photos.

Stripped Spark Plug

I pulled the plugs out to check them and the threads from one hole came out with the plug. I understand that the Time Sert kits are the best for repair. Does anyone have a part number or specs for the sleeve I need? The threaded reach on the existing plugs are about 10mm. Thanks

Runoffs Qualifications

Just wondering if anyone can clearly let me know what the qualifications are to compete in the Runoffs these days. I have seen the GCR rules & have also heard different qualifications in the past such as "turning a wheel in 3 Major events", which could including only doing a qualifying session in 3 events. I have also heard of exemptions allowed for reasons other then past Runoff winners.

Just looking for input to see what is possible.

88 Swift SE-3

For Sale is a recently refurbished 1988 Swift SE-3. The car was owned by the late John McCalister. A racing enthusiast well known in the southwest. Before him the car had a very successful career. We purchased the car at John's estate sale and wanted to bring it back to its glory.

It was refurbished for only one reason and that was to make it the way it was just because. All the parts were cleaned painted, coated, rebuilt etc. The transmission and shocks were rebuilt. The engine was cosmetically cleaned and painted but was not rebuilt. It does run but we are not aware of the amount of time on the engine. The brake calipers have new seals and new coating, uprights are rebuilt with new bearings. The dash is new and the gauges were either replaced or polished if possible. All of the aluminum panels for the firewall and fuel cell were redone. The chassis was stripped and painted and all of the body panels were fixed and painted.

The car has a lot of spares but they have all lived in a trailer for many many years. It appears we have spare suspension arms for each corner, we have rear uprights for both sides, and one front upright. Complete spare body work. Jig for the nose to make more if needed. Spare wing elements. We also have 23 wheels for the car, 12 rears and 11 fronts. They can be seen in the photos some match the wheels on the car and the rest are the mag wheels common to the swifts. Also have a spare engine but no idea anything about it and a lot of spare bits for the gearbox, engine, carbs, etc. We will also include the 4 gears in the car and 8 gears of your choice we should have anything you want from our collection.

This car would make an excellent CFC as is or would make a great FF with a conversion. Asking $15,000 for the car and all of its bits.

Change in SFI label?

Looking at a new set of belts, I noticed that the SFI label had changed. The old label (left) just says "Date of Manufacture" while the new one (right) says "Valid Two Years From Punched Date - Date of Manufacture." This seems to contradict both the old and the new SCCA rule on SFI belts. I talked to someone at SFI who told me that SCCA Tech Inspectors know their own rules which would supersede anything on the SFI label (except the punched date, of course). This wasn't very comforting to me.

Has anyone run into a problem with this, or gotten a definitive ruling that this isn't a problem? Any Tech Inspectors out there?

Never underestimate the elderly.......

An elderly man in Oklahoma calls his son in New York and says,

KBS/Invader F500 parts for sale

Source of motor mount bushes

Need the motor and transmission mounting bushes for my FF. OD is 1.00 inch and ID is .500......these are the metal and rubber combo pieces, two on the side go to motor mounts, two at the rear cross member bolt to gearbox. Checked with Bean this morning with neg results. They have sizes close but not what came out of the car.

4X Unknown Shock Spring Perch Locks/Adjusters

Got this set of four spring perch locks/adjusters a while back with a large buy out of the attic of a race shop. They appear to be unused, or at most very, very lightly used. $60 for the set shipped to USA address, PayPal OK/prefered.

They measure 1-5/8" ID (top of thread to top of thread so probably designated larger), 2-5/16" OD, a bit over 1/2" thick. Threads are very coarse, look to be Acme style with wide lands, four 1/4" holes on the edge for the adjustment tool.

Anyone know who made these and what they fit?

Opinions on simple in car lap timers

I am already thinking about next season and would like to add a laptimer to the cockpit.
There seems to be a reasonable amount of choices abeit in different price ranges and ways of solving the problem.
My first inclination is to get the AIM solo with GPS at $400.00
However research on Ebay and Amazon has located several other options with lessor price points
They fall into the categories of GPS, transponder/infrared combos and straight infared.
