So if all goes as planned (or maybe I should say the stars align) our house will be sold next month, and that will leave me with some extra cash that I have earmarked to finish out my "first formula car fund" :-) But that means now I have lots of questions.
Looking at FF, FC, FE, FB; aside from the initial purchase price, is there a huge difference in cost to race, maintain, rebuild time, etc?
I am located in NY, and maybe it is just me, but it seams REALLY confusing as to what the regional schedule... would it just be NARRC (http://narrc.com/)?
What is the typical registration fees in the Northeast? I have a friend who funs FE in the SARRC series, would it be roughly the same fees?
I am hoping that there will be a bunch of cars coming onto the market at the end of September or so, is that normally the case?
I figure I need about $5,000 to get all the gear/equipment to get started (just talking about; helmet, suit, etc.) is that about accurate?
Should I look at another class besides the four that I am looking at? I don't really care for the FV's, or FM's, the four types above are the ones that I have been able to see touch and feel, but I know there are a bunch of classes that I have not looked at.
Any major surprises that you all found out about that surprised you when you started racing that I should plan for?
I have been to a couple of SARRC races with my friend, and I hopefully will be able to join your ranks in the near future!
