Getting Started

Hey guys new guy here. Im looking for the best way to get started in racing. I have no experience at all with formula racing coming from a drag racing family where its all about who has the most HP and can cut a better light. Im looking to make the transition and would like honest opinions on where to start. Im from Nebraska and honestly haven't heard of any events even remotely close to here. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
