Hi all,
I'm looking for a little guidance from the collective. All opinions welcome.
I have a Van Diemen FC/FF frame that has a pretty good ding in the top left tube that is a result of a pretty hard hit in it's previous life.
Dent is about 2" long and 1/4" deep. It has elongated the tube height by .020" (guess). The backside looks to be slightly bent, but that may be an illusion. It's really slight if at all.
Since I've got it down to the frame I'd like opinions on what I should do here.
The frame is brazed welded together from the factory, so I think any welding will have to be brazed. If I'm wrong, please educate me.
Option 1 - Do nothing and go have fun and run the car as is. Like it's been doing for the last 10 years.
Option 2 - Try to pull the dent out with a slide hammer (ugg!) and braze a patch on it.
Option 3 - Replace the tube.
Option 4 - ?????
I don't have the talent to do Option 2 or 3, so I'd have to find someone to do that for me. Preferably on the West Coast as I really don't want to send it across the country, but if that's the only option.....
Thanks in advance!
