I currently have a DB4 that was last raced on 4/19/96 at Moroso. The SCCA Homologation is a duplicate and is dated 3/21/96. The log book is marked "Replacement" but a notation on the inside of the front cover says "Car #6 new 9-87".
It was purchased by a long time friend who used it for SCCA Autocross competition. He proceeded to find the weaknesses in the DB4.
It appears that the Staffs is not intended for standing starts and after several issues with broken gears, he sent it to Taylor who replaced the Staffs CWP with a Hewland 7/31. He also replaced the original style clutch with a multi-disk carbon unit. These changes seem to have resolved the transmission problem.
The current engine is a Cosworth with the 2.0 aluminum block. The head is an original FA BDA (or whatever the correct term is) with the F1 cams and Webers. Plenty of torque for it's intended autocross usage.
I can no longer drive the car so I would like to sell it. My question, is there any kind of market for this car other than to another autocrosser? I can supply any other information needed.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
