Hoosier returns as title sponsor!

Hoosier Racing Tire returns to the US Formula 1000 Championship in a three year agreement as title sponsor that will see the Championship renamed as The Hoosier Tire US Formula 1000 Championship.

The agreement calls for both cash and contingency prizes to be awarded at each race event with cash prize payouts to be announced at a later date. Per-race contingency prizes will remain as they were in 2013 with 20 tires awarded per weekend as long as there are a minimum of 10 entries per race.

Per-race contingency prizes are as follows:

  • 1st-4 tires

  • 2nd-2 tires

  • 3rd-1 tire

  • Pole position-1 tire

  • There will also be two tires awarded in random drawings among non-podium finishers at each race.

If there are less than 10 cars entered the tire contingency award will be 10 tires per weekend with contingency awarded as follows:

  • 1st-2 tires

  • 2nd-1 tires

  • Pole position-1 tire

  • There will also be two tires awarded in random drawings among non-podium finishers at each race.

As in 2013, the overall 2014 US Formula 1000 Championship driver will win a tire program from Hoosier for the 2015 season. Should the 2014 champion also win the SCCA National Runoffs in FB the national championship prize will take precedent.

As part of this agreement, Hoosier tire will be the only tire permitted but any Hoosier size and compound can be used in 2014. To help reduce costs to competitors, Hoosier has agreed to work with the series admins and drivers to develop a spec tire for 2015 and 2016.

To be eligible for the Hoosier Tire contingency award and cash prizes drivers must be registered with the series and display both a Hoosier patch on their uniform and three Hoosier decals on their car in locations to be specified by the series
