Proform Scales?

I've been looking for a used set of scales, and noticed that the price of new Proform scales is the same or less than used scales from Intercomp, Longacre, Rebco, Tanner. Does anyone have feedback on Proform scales? I know the scale pads are plastic instead of metal, but will that make a difference when I use them 5-6 times per year to set up my 850 lb F500?
