care and feeding of hoosier slicks...

So, I burned through two sets of hoosiers at Thompson a couple weekends ago (they were both old, but still), which makes me wonder about my proper care for my race rubber. I used to alternate racing between Lime Rock and NHMS, which were in opposite directions and seemed to wear my rubber pretty evenly, so I have not had this issue till recently. Recently I've been running primarily at Thompson, which would appear to burn through my left front tire first. Does rotation direction mean anything for these? Or can I switch sides/rotation direction?

Or maybe we should just switch to the Falken's...
