The headers from my FE are coated with what I think is ceramic coating. The local header coating company gave me a call to tell me they were having a heck of a time removing it after trying a commercial media blaster as well as grinding discs. Is there an easily available chemical that can remove the coating? Jet Hot said they can remove it but I'd have to ship it out to them and ship it back just to remove the coating. The local shop will ceramic coat it with 2500F coating for less than half the price of Jet Hots coating that has the same specs. Surely there is a chemical that can dissolve the coating?
Trouble removing header coating. Any ideas?
