I have a carbon fiber front wing main element for sale with a very deep cord with lots of underside camber. I looked long and hard for a deep cord like this for solo to run on my open wheel BM car.
It is an advanced design using a twisted and drooped profile as you can see in the front view. The twisted and drooped profile allows some air in the critical center underside area to not be shunted away from feeding the underbody .
It currently has 2 small adjustable flaps and 2 smaller fixed flaps inboard. Those flaps could all be replaced by 2 or more full width flaps for increased low speed downforce. I only discovered that full width flaps like were readily available in the exact width after I ended up making a totally different front wing based ona different set of elements. Width of the entire wing assy. I am selling including side plates is 59". In this current setup, it may already be optimum for hillclimb.
I probably should have stayed with this main element for my next BM solo front wing assy. Its construction would have laughed off the cone hits that badly cracked my wing main element that I built.
The closed wheel car picture attached shows how my wing could also be integrated into a sports-racer front and probably not be counted as wing area in solo BM. The trailing edge would connect to the bodywork and therefore not meet the famous Solo SEB definition of a wing. My wing is a very tough carbon fiber wing that will probably not be hurt by cones hits- ever.
Price on honeycomb nose mount, yellow CF main element + all small flaps $400. I paid $1200 for just the wing used and the new price for one of these was originally around $4k. I'm in San Jose, CA.
