I have a set of Koni 8211s that are a bit long for my application. I am planning on sending them in for servicing and getting them shortened at the same time. I don't have any special valving requirements and the new length will match an existing shorter model. I had hoped that someone here had a shorter set of shocks they would like to trade, but it seams that isn't the case.
My questions are
How many people here have done this, and were you satisfied with the work?
Who did you use?
About how long does it take?
About how much does this cost (approx numbers obviously)?
Do the cut down your existing shafts/adjusters, or replace them with new parts from a shorter model shock? (One set has some chrome wear so a replacement shaft would be ideal)
Do they section and weld the main body, or cut/rethread existing?
Any info would be helpful
Thanks
