I bought the car in August of 2012. It was a running driving car but it did not have the correct body on it. The previous owner did have the original body for the car which I was able to get. This motor was represented to me as being rebuilt after something broke in the engine. The logbook was lost by the previous owner, but as you can see in the picture it does have the original chassis tag. The steering wheel, the dash and the seat also appear to be all original.
At the time my friend who was a long time VARA racer and mechanical engineer helped me take the car completely apart. He had checked the motor and everything checked out that the motor looked well built. (I can email video of motor running). We installed a brand new Valve Cover and new spark plugs and wires. The ring gear was bad so it was replaced with a good used one and a new starter was installed. The gearbox got a going through by a race prep shop and a brand new clutch was installed. A brand new bell-housing was also installed. I had a friend do the body work , paint and decal the car. I sent the exhaust out to Swain Tech and got it re-coated in white.
The finish work was completed by another Race Prep shop in March of 2015. The car needed and new radiator and to be fabricated back to original specs. The car got all brand new hoses. The body had to be refitted and as such obtained some damage. My body guy recently put a red racing stripe decal to cover the damage.
The car is race pretty much track ready but recently discovered the Girling Master Cylinders are leaking. The ATL fuel cell is also leaking a bit and will need to be replaced! The car also needs seat belts. The tires are old and should have new tires. The is a black air filter scoop included that is not mounted (see pic). I do not have any spares. The car is sold on a bill of sale and included are some build receipts. I have about $23,000 invested in this car!
