The post about Denise McCluggage reminded me of Toly's horrific accident back in 2011 on his way to the SCCA convention (http://ift.tt/1GRJcO3 ) and I wondered how he was doing - and thought that many of you out there might also wonder. I know him only by reputation, but he is great friends with a friend of mine (Paul Spruell) and I asked Paul if he had any info. Below is Paul's reply - such good news as his initial injuries were seriously life threatening .. especially in light of the location and travel conditions.

Steve, Toly paid us a visit and spent the night back last year. He has recovered remarkably from his catastrophic injuries. He lost the right leg, but has adapted well to his high tech replacement. It has an articulated ankle and foot that makes walking almost natural. Other leg completely recovered. Internal injuries all healed up. As always, he loves to get out on the road and drives everywhere in the country instead of flying. He was driving a DaTomaso roadster. God only made one Toly.... Paul |
