The press continues to be childish with their headlines about what the winner gets ($2.xxxx million) and what the last place finisher gets ($2xx,xxx). Never even pointing out the obvious that those are team prizes not individual drivers prizes
So has anyone seen any general discussion about how widely varied payouts are divided up amongst the members on various teams? I know that exact information is not available because each driver has a unique contract. And that information shouldn't be made public, but there must be some educated guesses (reliable rumors) about the most or least a driver has kept for finishing.
So, what do you think J.P. himself might have kept for winning and how much of the $200k that "Conner Daiy got" is really his?
Just looking for some succinct and illuminating reply when I'm at a party and hear the ubiquitous "oh that Montoya got over $2.5 million for his 3 hours of work."
