I have a Brand New Kent engine that was built 20 years ago and only has dyno time on it (been sitting 20+ years). Long story short my current engine is a little long in the tooth so I change engine. the new engine has a bosch distributor that has a 09 cap and I change out the :Dpoints to electronic ign. I am getting good spark to all the plugs but the engine will not start, get back fires. change the firing order in all types of arrangements still will not start.
Could it be the distributor cap? The engine floods after a few seconds of cranking so maybe it is the carb? Any suggestions?
