changing stud in bearing carrier

I need to change a stripped stud in my Hewland's bearing carrier. [It has been suggested that to make the car faster, I should change the stud in the driver's seat, but no deal] I assume they are set with red loctite, but don't know. I doubt heat is going to do good things to the bearings, so I wanted to see if anyone could tell me a safe procedure to get them out.
