Sizing for Alpinestars racing apparel

Hi:



I am ordering online (i.e. without test fit) both a race suit and racing shoes, from Alpinestars. I'd like to know how the sizing compares to the equipment I have been using so far.



According to the Alpinestars sizing chart, for the GP suit, and considering I am 5'11" and 160lbs I need to go with a Euro size 52. I have been wearing a size 54 (Sparco Sizing).

I'd like to know what Alpinestars size you went for if you have similar height and weight. I'm undecided between 52 and 54. I do wear a Nomex teeshirt at all times under the suit, and sometimes a nomex long underwear at the end of the season when it gets cold.



For the shoes... I am Nike running shoes size 11.5. And they fit ok. Most other shoes I go for size 11. My last racing shoes were Pyrotect size 9.5. They were snug though required for the small foot box of the car I was driving at the time (even had to ground the insole at the heel).

The shoes I am currently looking at are the Alpinestars Tech 1T Racing Shoe.

If anyone has experience with these, that would be appreciated. Do they fit tighter than regular running shoes? How wide are they?
