Hi,
Registration will open shortly on the DLBRacing website for DUFFUS race #1 at New Jersey Motorsports Park on Memorial Day weekend, May 23 & 24. We will be racing in support of the ARCA Stock Car event at NJMP that weekend.
The registration process is being help up by a glitch in the pay by credit card application. As soon as that is cleared up registration will be open. Please note that entry fee payments do not go to me; please follow the instructions on DLBRacing. The entry fee will be $500.
This will be an SCCA sanctioned event with the accompanying insurance and can be counted toward license renewal. We will honor any racing license issued by any other sanctioning body listed in the GCR (this includes all the vintage racing groups and the Formula Race Car Club of America). Any driver who is not an SCCA member will be required to purchase a temporary SCCA weekend membership for $15.
There will NOT be a test day on Friday, May 22. There is another group that has rented the track that day for private testing so the track will not be available for us.
Load in will commence on Friday afternoon AFTER the ARCA rigs have entered and been parked. They are scheduled to begin parking the ARCA rigs at 4 PM. We estimate that we will not be able to access the paddock until after 5PM on Friday.
All garages are initially turned over to the ARCA cars. If ARCA chooses not to use all the garage space; any remaining spaces will be available from the track management on a first come first served basis. We have been told that an announcement will be made over the PA system when that occurs. There will be a designated paddock parking area for all DUFFUS participants. A paddock map will be provided at registration.
PLEASE pay close attention to the instructions regarding the location and hours that registration is open. This is not a normal SCCA event and Valerie Heun has very kindly agreed to be our registrar for the weekend. Val will not be spending the entire day in registration, so again, please make sure you have all your crew, family and friends aware of the location and times that registration will be open.
We will be getting two 30 minute sessions (minimum) each day of the weekend. The first session will be qualifying and each on track session after that will be a race. We will be awarding "kill stickers" to the podium finishers in each class for each race. The iconic (????) DUFFUS trophies will be awarded to podium finishers in each class for the final (3rd) race of the weekend.
The grid for each race will be formed using the fastest lap time from the previous sessions. So, if you have a spin or have to briefly stop in the pits; don't give up. Try and get a quick time to get a good grid position in the next race.
Larry Oliver will be our Chief Steward for the weekend. Normal SCCA tech inspections will be performed. If it is at all possible, please try to have your annual inspection done before the weekend. If that is not possible, there will be annual inspections done.
I think that covers it all. If you want to get a look at the entry please go to http://ift.tt/1OmMBh5. I post again when the credit card issue is cleared up.
Thanks,
Joe Marcinski
