FS 1972 Caldwell D9B Project

With great regret I'm seeking a new home for my 1972 Caldwell D9B. The frame

is trashed, so I figure it will take about $10k to turn it into a $20-$25k car

again and I don't have that kind of budget. I'd prefer to sell the complete

project to someone who can put it back on the track, but otherwise will part

it out.

What you get for $9000:

- Complete car with major frame damage. All suspension pieces, uprights,

brakes, etc. included in serviceable or better condition.

- Ivey Kent with iron head and all the legal good bits (including light flywheel & annular clutch release) has ~35 hours but still pulls strongly, has rarely exceeded 6600RPM redline. Dyno sheet from build is available.

- Stainless exhaust. Original "fist of snakes" header also included.

- Hewland Mk 9 will need attention.

- Donut savers

- AIM MyChron 3 Gold with sensors for wheel speed, RPM (filter included), oil

and water temps, and throttle position. Original Autodynamics mechanical tach

is included in a box for return to vintage configuration

- 5 gallon fuel cell

- Tilton brake bias adjuster

- Current 7-point belts

- 2 batteries

- hardwired transponder

- 6 Compomotive wheels

- 4 Panasport wheels

- good selection (>20) of gearsets

- 2 sets of bodywork as shown in photos. The black body has some easily

repaired damage, the white one is missing the nose and will require some

serious work.

- 2 brass radiators

- 1996-2005 VARA and SCCA logbooks, extensive setup data since 2011

- my gratitude for restoring an old beauty

For another $2000 you can take all this home in a Look 14-foot V-Nose single

axle trailer with electric brakes and weight distribution hitch. Trailer is

equipped with many amenities and is very light for its size.

If I wind up parting the car out I already have buyers interested in the motor and trailer, so if you want those you'll need to take the whole package, which would mean getting the Caldwell itself for very little $.
