I am installing a AIM Mychron 3 Gold in my FST, so air cooled VW, coil no ECU. I have some very basic questions;
The manual is less than exact as to where I pick up my RPM signal from the coil, where do I pickup that signal? Is it the same source as the current tach signal? Do I cut a patch cable to make that connection?
Can I use the existing VDO oil temp sensor to provide that data? The M10 sensor in the box would require dry sump tank modification that I would like to avoid. If the VDO sensor will work is there a cable for that or is that something I need to make?
Should shock mounts be used when attaching the unit to the dash or should it hard mounted?
