Data system turns off during ignition

Hello all! Trying to figure out why i lose power to my CDS copilot while starting the car. I have the negative straight to the battery and the power straight to the battery disconnect switch. When I power up the car (prior to starting) the CDS system will turn on, however, once I press the start button the CDS copilot will lose power and then regain power and start up again after the starter button is released.



Not sure how the starter button has anything to do with the CDS being powered by the battery disconnect switch? How are they connected?



Its an FE btw.
