Perspective, I guess: East coast vs west coast tracks

I'm contemplating a new job and a move to the east coast for a couple of years and was doing some research on the tracks I might run at and found the following tow times from Jacksonville, NC:

VIR 3.5

Charlotte 4

Roebling Road 5.5

Summit Point 6

Road Atlanta 7

Barbour 9

Beaver Run 9.5

Watkins Glen 10

Mid-Ohio 10.5

Lime Rock 11.5

Indy 12

top 10, average tow time 7.65 hrs, although I can imagine only having the opportunity to run the top 5, which has a 5.2 hr average

I also remember from my CENDIV and CART days how much guardrail there is at east coast tracks.

By comparison, from home plate at Ridgecrest, CA I have:

Willow Springs 1

Fontucky 2

Buttonwillow 2.5

Las Vegas 4

Pahrump 4

Chuckwalla 5

Laguna Seca 5

Firebird 8

Sears Point 10

Thunderhill 10

top 10 average tow time 5.1 hrs, but I really only run the top 6, 3 hr average.

It's usually hot, but it's a dry heat, and without grass to slide on there's hardly any guardrail needed. I think in 14 years of running west coast tracks I've only seen 4 cars find their way to a fixed barrier, and two of those were just due to stupidity.

I guess in the long run my average tow in the future will look like my longest tow now. Hope I get the job though, would love the chance to run some east coast tracks without making some kind of epic summer retirement tour.
