First things first, here's the car in action in case you haven't seen it :

Car info:

Multiple time Saferacer national points, divisional and Majors championship winning SRF. Over 20 race wins in the past 3 seasons alone with numerous track records and no DNF's. This car scored more national points than any other car in all of SCCA (over 1200 drivers) in both 2011 and 2012. In 2013 and 2014 it finished off of the podium once and that was at the Runoffs where it finished 8th (driver error) after setting the third fastest time and running with the lead pack for most of the race.

At Circuit of the Americas the car led both Majors races (85 car field), finished on the podium both days, and set the track record.

2012-2014 Majors stats: 16 poles, 15 wins, 6 seconds, 3 thirds, never off the podium, no DNF (this includes CoTA and the June Sprints double majors in 2013)

2014 total SCCA stats:

- 10 races: 8 wins, 1 second, 1 third, on pole for 9 of the 10 races (outside pole the 10th)

- Mid-States Majors Championship

- The last race weekend the car ran was at Heartland Park where it had the pole both days and won both Majors races by almost 10 seconds in a solid field

The details:

Chassis 686, built by my dad and I from the ground up so we know the entire history. I am selling it as a Gen2 ready to race.

The car was prepped to go to the Runoffs at Laguna Seca before extenuating circumstances cancelled the trip. It will come with the following:

- Consistent (every race) top 5 Mid-States Majors qualifying motor

- Zero time, freshly rebuilt transmission ($1600)

- One weekend on freshly rebuilt shocks with replaced spherical bearings ($900)

- New fuel cell in 2013 ($900)

- New tubular rocker arms, matte black powder coated ($2000)

- New style front toe links ($350)

- New style in-tank fuel pump ($400 required for Gen3)

- New air intake tube ($250)

- New style alternator (required for Gen3)

- New style adjustable AFPR (required for Gen3)

- Rotors (slotted/vented) and pads have two weekends on them

- Wiring harness re-done by SCCA Enterprises in 2012

- Magnacore plug wires with red (wow! ) heat shields

- AIM MyChron 3 Gold data system with dash (shifter lights, digital readout, etc)

- Wheel speed, lateral accelerometer, RPM, voltage, temperature

- Oil temp for Mychron

- Fuel pressure for Mychron (visible real-time on dash so you can adjust AFPR while standing behind the car looking at the dash - no need for an external fuel pressure gauge)

- Wideband O2 sensor for Mychron - I made FP adjustments after most sessions to optimize engine longevity and performance

- Steering angle for Mychron

- Schroth top of the line belts good through 2015 (Profi HANS formula car, black)

- Fiberglass seat

- Two sets of Weld wheels, one set of rain tires on Shelbys

- The car is very light. After the last race I came in at 1682 (1670 minimum) with 3 gallons and 30 pounds of ballast (I weighed 205 at the time)

- Nose is dead center in weight at 50 lbs (35-65 range), tail is light at 31 pounds (28 minimum)

- In Runoffs prep the car scaled out essentially perfectly: 0 pounds differential side to side front and rear, front ride heights identical, rear ride heights different by 1/16"

- The car will come perfectly set up and scaled, if you have a set up preference you can let me know and I'll set it to your specs

So what's the downside?

It's simple. The car is not going to win a concours d'elegance competition. I've spent my money on making it go fast, not keeping it pristine. As such, damage to the fiberglass has been riveted with aluminum rather than glassed in to save weight. I have taped over blemishes and broken spots. The frame hasn't been painted in a long while so it has blemishes as well. It's all cosmetic, and that's the only reason I'm not asking top-of-market pricing.

Option 1: I have a spare nose and tail that are painted white/red that are in good shape (no major broken areas), and are definitely in better shape than the ones on the car. Weight is excellent on both - nose 46, tail 34 (slightly lower nose, slightly higher tail than what's on the car). I can include them in the negotiation.

Option 2: I have a leather wrapped (alcantara) open-top steering wheel with detachable hub that I would be willing to part with (current wheel is the standard smooth surfaced one with no detachable hub). It has a professional grade push to talk switch on it as well.

Option 3: I have one open and one enclosed car trailer, both perfectly set up for a spec racer. I no longer need both since we sold my dad's old car earlier this year. I would consider selling either of those with the car. Make it easy on yourself if you want to pick the car up (or I deliver it to you)!

Option 4: Rent the car at the upcoming Motorsports Ranch Cresson school/race weekend in mid-January southwest of Fort Worth. I'll put the entire rental fee towards the purchase of the car if you decide to buy it.

Market info for reference:

Car 1 for sale currently (to my knowledge): no updates, average body work, some frame damage to be repaired, heavier wheels: $15.5k

Car 2 sold : in-tank fuel pump, old style rockers, etc. average body work, no other upgrades, $17k

Car 3 sold: excellent bodywork, excellent cosmetic frame, all updates matching mine, only one set of wheels included - $23.5k

I'm asking $19k for mine including all the upgrades listed above (but not the options).

The car is in the Dallas area (75070) and can be shipped at buyer's expense. I'm also amenable to bringing it to you or meeting somewhere depending on distance and timing.

Additional pictures and/or details on request. I'll respond to email, text, or phone questions so please don't post them here as I'm rarely on the site.
